
We built this electric carbon heater to be the straightforward, drop-in replacement for industrial infrared heating. It’s the kind of workhorse that gets the job done when space is tight and you need heat on demand.
The power behind the design
We spec these out at 400V and 2500W, pushing serious power through a compact 300mm quartz tube. The payoff is a lot of heat in a small footprint. It ramps up fast, and once it’s set, it holds steady—even when it’s running nonstop. That voltage choice also keeps the current lower, so you can use smaller wires and keep the wiring simple.
What it’s made of
Inside the tube, a carbon filament is sealed in high-purity quartz. Quartz handles sudden temperature shifts without blinking, and it keeps the infrared output consistent. A halogen fill gas shields the filament, which helps the heater last longer and perform reliably.
The R7s connector is a straight, two-pin setup that snaps in quickly and stays secure, even when things vibrate. The coating is tuned for infrared efficiency, but it needs a little care—keep the surface clean and dry to avoid hot spots.
Where it shines
This setup is made for fitting straight into machines: PET blowing, thermoforming, plastic welding. You can swap it in as a direct replacement for existing fixtures. The heat is strong, controllable, and ready almost immediately.
One thing to keep in mind: that 2500W of density means you need proper cooling and clearance. Size the heat sink and airflow to match the load. If you don’t, the control electronics will spend all their time chasing the temperature.
