Let’s Talk About Twin Tube Carbon Fiber IR Lamps
If you’ve ever tried to push a single infrared lamp to its limit, you know the feeling. You want more heat, but the moment you crank it up, the tube just gives up. That’s exactly why we went with the twin tube setup. By using two filaments in one compact space, we can pack in a ton of heat without burning the whole thing out. The deal with power and voltage Here’s the thing: doubling the tubes means doubling the surface area. You get way more wattage out of every millimeter. Because these are built for heavy-duty industrial grids, they handle high voltage easily. It lets us push a massive amount of power through those carbon fiber filaments without needing a lamp the size of a surfboard. Just a heads-up, though—make sure your wiring and power supply can actually handle the load. If they can’t, you’ll get voltage drops, and your heating will look splotchy and uneven. Nobody wants that. Why carbon fiber? We stopped using old-school nichrome wire for a reason. Carbon fiber just holds up better when you’re constantly switching the heat on and off. It doesn’t warp. It doesn’t sag. It just stays put. Plus, that dual-tube shape helps the heat spread out. It kills those annoying “cold spots” you usually find in curing or drying tunnels. Most of our units use standard industrial connectors, so swapping them out is a breeze. Just keep the contact points clean. If they’re dirty, you’ll get arcing, and that’s a headache you don’t need. Real-world usage These things are absolute workhorses. Whether you’re blowing PET bottles, curing paint, or welding plastic, they hit temperature almost the second you flip the switch. It’s fast. Really fast. But there’s a catch. All that concentrated heat stays in the housing. If your cooling fans quit, the “heat soak” can actually melt your wiring insulation or ruin your reflectors. If you’re replacing an old lamp, keep it simple: match the wattage and voltage exactly. Don’t try to “upgrade” the specs on the fly, or you might just fry your control board.
