We built these tubes for those moments when standard quartz or metal heaters just can’t keep up. If you’re dealing with high-density thermal loads and need to hit your target temperature now, this is the tool for the job. At 2600W, it packs a massive amount of heat into a pretty slim profile. The power side of things When you’ve got 2600W spread over 640mm, you’re pushing a lot of wattage into every single centimeter. We went with carbon fiber filaments because they can handle way more current than the old-school nichrome wire. The result? It hits operating temperature almost instantly. It makes your PID controllers a lot happier, too, because you don’t get that annoying overshoot you usually see with heavier thermal masses. It’s snappy. Responsive. What’s actually inside Under the hood, it’s a carbon fiber weave wrapped in a high-purity quartz envelope. One of the best parts is that carbon fiber doesn’t oxidize the way metal does, so as long as the seal holds, these things tend to last a long time. We also tuned these for short-wave infrared emission. Instead of just scorching the surface of your workpiece, the heat actually sinks deeper into the material. But a word of caution:**be gentle.**Carbon fiber is sensitive to mechanical shocks. If you drop it or give it a hard bump while installing it, you could snap the internal filament. If that happens, the tube is toast. Getting it into your machine A quick heads-up on the wiring: you’ll need heavy-duty leads. 2600W is a lot of juice, and you don’t want your terminals overheating. Also, double-check your power supply to make sure you’ve got enough headroom before you flip the switch. Here’s the trade-off, though. That intense heat is great for cutting down cycle times, but it’s brutal on everything around it. If you have plastic parts or gaskets nearby, they’re going to feel it. Make sure your shielding is solid and your cooling fans are actually doing their job. If the air doesn’t move, the housing can warp and the ambient heat will eat away at the tube’s lifespan. Keep it cool, and it’ll keep working.
