Infrared Carbon Heat Lamps: More Than Just a Bulb
Let’s get real. These aren’t just your average bulbs. We’re talking about serious, engineered heating elements, built for one purpose: to deliver a blast of focused, directional heat. They’re the go-to when you’re squeezing a heating system into a tight spot and need it to fire up on a dime.
The Power Behind the Heat
We designed these lamps to pack a punch in a small package. A standard unit cranks out 2,500 watts, and we give you the choice between 230V and 400V. Go with the higher voltage, and you’re in a much better spot. You can pull that kind of power without having to run thick, expensive cables all over the place. It’s a lifesaver when you’re wiring up a cramped machine bay. And physically? They’re about 300mm long. That means you can slide one right into an existing reflector housing without having to redesign the whole machine. It’s all about putting the heat exactly where you need it, not wasting it across the shop floor.
What’s Inside?
At the heart of it all is a halogen capsule, nestled inside a quartz envelope. That halogen cycle does a great job of keeping the filament stable, which means the light output stays consistent. No annoying dimming over time. And the quartz? It handles the heat and responds instantly. Flip the switch, and it hits its temperature fast. We’ve also added a reflective coating on the back of the tube. It pushes the infrared energy forward, so you get more of the heat aimed right where you want it. Less waste. For the install, we use R7s connectors. It’s a simple, two-contact fit that makes swapping out a lamp a quick job. No messing around with complicated terminals.
Where These Lamps Shine
This whole design is built for one thing: heating right at the point of action. They’re perfect for PET blowing setups, where you need to soften preforms quickly and precisely. They also work beautifully for plastic welding and curing adhesives, because the heat goes straight to the joint—not all over the place. The compact size, high power, and focused output give you real control over the temperature. Just keep one thing in mind: with that kind of concentrated power, your machine’s cooling and ventilation need to be up to the task. Plan for that, and you’re looking at predictable performance, easy maintenance, and far fewer unexpected stops.
