Let’s talk about the 550mm Carbon Fiber Quartz Tube

We built this 550mm heating lamp because we noticed a frustrating gap in the market. You usually have to choose between a basic halogen tube that doesn’t quite cut it or a massive industrial heater that’s overkill. This is the middle ground. At 220V and 1500W, it puts out a serious amount of heat across a half-meter stretch. The power side of things With 1500W spread over 550mm, the heat stays steady from one end to the other. We stuck with the 220V standard for a simple reason: it just works. You can wire these straight into most industrial panels without messing around with step-down transformers. We spent a lot of time balancing the wattage. We wanted it to hit your target temperature fast, but not so fast that it cooks the quartz tube itself. Why carbon fiber? Most people are used to nichrome wire, but we went with carbon fiber. Here is why: it handles the “stretch” of heating and cooling way better. It doesn’t sag or warp after you’ve cycled it a thousand times. We seal that element inside high-purity quartz. The quartz does two things. It keeps the carbon from oxidizing, and it lets the infrared heat slide right through. Instead of the lamp housing getting hot, the heat goes exactly where it belongs—into your workpiece. Getting it installed (and a few warnings) If you’re running PET blowing or drying lines, these are pretty much a drop-in replacement. You’ll notice they ramp up much faster than those old ceramic heaters. But, a word of caution. 1500W in a tube this size creates a lot of concentrated heat. If your reflectors are caked in dust or your airflow is blocked, you’re asking for thermal shock. And please,don’t overtighten your mounting clips. Quartz expands when it gets hot. If the hardware is pinching the tube too hard, it’ll crack. Just give it a little breathing room before you flip the switch.
