
Let’s talk about the 240mm 1100W Carbon Fiber Heat Lamp
We built this lamp specifically for those high-density thermal loads in industrial ovens. If you’ve used standard quartz heaters, you know how they work. These are different. The carbon fiber filament uses an infrared spectrum that actually digs into materials faster. At 1100W, you’re getting a ton of concentrated heat packed into a small 240mm space. It’s a lot of power for a small footprint. Wait, how fast is “fast”? The 1100W rating is what lets you ramp up your oven temperature without waiting around. We chose this wattage so your heat-up cycles happen quickly. But here’s the thing: because all that energy is squeezed into a 240mm tube, the surface gets hot—fast. Just make sure your oven’s housing and insulation are up to the task. You don’t want your chassis warping because the heat is too concentrated. Why carbon fiber? Carbon fiber filaments just behave differently than tungsten. They give you a stable, medium-to-long wave infrared output. If you’re swapping out old heating elements and need the heat to spread more evenly across your workpiece, this is a great way to do it. To keep things from oxidizing or breaking under the stress of all that heat, we wrapped the filament in a high-purity quartz envelope. The practical stuff (and a few warnings) Getting these wired up is simple, but you need a steady power supply. If your voltage starts jumping around, you’re likely to burn out the filament. Make sure your controller can handle the 1100W draw so you don’t fry your circuits. Also, a heads-up: while these heat up way faster than traditional coils, they’re a bit fragile. One hard bump during installation and you might crack the quartz. A couple of tips to make them last:
- Use secure mounting clips to stop any vibration.
- Keep the tubes clean. If you’re working in a dusty shop, keep an eye on them. Dust buildup creates hotspots, and hotspots lead to the tube failing way sooner than it should.
